Meet the Coaches at Pinnacle Badminton Center

  • "Kate" Jing Yu Hong

    ELITE TEAM HEAD COACH

    At age 11, Hong left home to train full-time at a professional sports center. In 2002, she was selected for the Chinese National Youth Team and eventually the China National 2nd Tier Team for Women Doubles. In 2012 Hong joined the EastBay Badminton Association as a coach and athlete. She has been coaching the next generation of athletes ever since, taking her dedication to the sport to new heights by opening Pinnacle Badminton Center in 2024.

  • Xin Huang

    U13 HEAD COACH

    Coach Huang began her badminton journey in 2009 at a sports school in China, after moving to the United States, she continued her training and competed in numerous junior and open tournaments. Her passion for badminton and the joy she found in the game inspired her to start coaching in 2021, aiming to share her knowledge and love for badminton with others, helping them to discover and develop their potential in badminton.

  • Kyle Hayden

    HIGH & MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD COACH

    After discovering a love for badminton as a junior in the Bay Area, Hayden went on to play in clubs and tournaments in New England before moving back to the Bay in his mid twenties. With a focus on growth mindset he pushes his students to fight for improvement over accolades. As the head coach of the Berkeley High Badminton team, an former coach at EBA, and now a coach at PBC, Hayden strives to bring an amazing experience to developing competitors.

 

Gym Rules

  1. Check in at the front desk before every session

  2. Shoes with colored soles are not allowed on court unless specifically labeled as non-marking

  3. Respect the queueing system

  4. Place trash and recycling in the designated containers

  5. Keep valuables in your bag when not in use to discourage theft

  6. Keep volume down when entering/exiting the gym to respect our neighbors
